What are NIFTY and SENSEX?
NIFTY 50 = the average score of 50 of India's biggest companies
on NSE. SENSEX = the average of 30 big companies on BSE. When people say "market is up today",
they mean these averages went up. They're a quick health check of the whole market, not one company.
Think of your class: instead of asking every student's marks, the teacher announces the
class average. NIFTY is the class average of the 50 biggest companies.
